Kathy
Registered nurse, Board certified lactation consultant
“My greatest joy from assisting and guiding a mom, baby and their family towards interdependence is to observe their rested confident smiles at the end of my assignments.”
a brief bio
Having been a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 30 years both at bedside and in management, Kathy continues to utilize the important skills of caring, coordinating and communicating evidence based information when employed with a newborn and their family.
She has worked with newborns and their families in the home setting since 2016 — and many of these assignments have included 24 hour care. Kathy has learned that each family is unique in their needs and identifying those needs together at the onset is so very important. She sees her role as performing newborn care so the family can rest as well, along with assisting the family with education, demonstration, and gentle guidance in order to instill energy and confidence to care for the new family member.
Kathy grew up in Queens, NY went to Hunter College for my BSN and continued her nursing education at Boston University (BU). BU provided her with the opportunity to fall in love with New England as well as New York City. She now live in the east bay of Rhode Island.
“When I’m not rocking your precious newborn to sleep, you can find me out on the boat or cycling with my husband!”
