RECENT WORK EXPERIENCE
MM FAMILY - OVERNIGHT NEWBORN CARE
Began working with this family when their second child was just four days old. Supported mom who began her journey breastfeeding and struggled with painful latch and sore nipples. Worked through pain management and healing by guiding mom to hand express or pump to relieve herself from engorgement. Provided bottle feedings every 2-3 hours, throughout the night while mom took care of herself and got restful sleep. Implemented paced bottle feeds so baby would have more control of his latch, and saw much improvement in spit ups! Washed and sterilize bottles and pump parts. Woke mom to pump in early hours. Maintained nursery supplies, washed and folded laundry, and monitored the baby while working overnight.
JH FAMILY - Overnight Newborn Care
Supported family with their second baby girl! Provided bottle feeds throughout the night and ensured mom that baby was in the best care while providing safe and evidence based practices. By week 8, the baby was sleeping (1) 5-hour stretch, with a few consecutive feeds thereafter. Assisted mom with pumping routine throughout the night, and washed and sterilized her pump parts so she can get right back to sleep. Maintained and organized nursery.
MH Family - Overnight Newborn Care
Provided overnight to this family and worked with their second child after they arrived home from the hospital. Mom struggled with anxiety due to her first child being diagnosed with a rare blood disorder at a very young age. Provided detailed notes for other providers and parents to ensure a smooth transition and source of knowledge of baby’s behaviors during the night. Ensured the mother’s pump parts were cleaned and sanitized for her to use when she needed relief from oversupply of breastmilk. Helped the baby with paced feeding for introducing bottles, burping, diaper changes, swaddling, soothing, and circumcision care.
MR Family - Overnight Newborn Care
Supported parents as they transitioned into a family of four! Offered bottle feedings to baby as mom pumped throughout the night and got the sleep she needed. Maintained detailed overnight log with all information and notes pertaining to baby’s diapers, spit ups, and temperament. Enjoyed witnessing mom wake up feeling refreshed and ready to get the day started with her two children!
MD Family - Overnight Newborn Care (twins)
Provided overnight care for set of twins; 1 boy and 1 girl. Established bedtime routine by bathing and feeding babies, swaddling and placing them down to bed. Baby boy showed signs of colic, so it was important to approach his feedings and care preventatively; tummy massage, leg bicycles, paced feedings and sitting up right 20 minutes after every feed ensured less spit ups and discomfort. Educated mom on nipple sizes and shapes.
