CF FAMILY - OVERNIGHT NEWBORN CARE
Began working with this family with their first born, who came 3 weeks early. Supported mom who began her journey breastfeeding and struggled with painful latch and sore nipples. Worked through pain management and healing by guiding mom to hand express or pump to relieve herself from engorgement. Provided bottle feedings every 2-3 hours, throughout the night while mom took care of herself and got restful sleep. Washed and sterilize bottles and pump parts. Woke mom to pump in early hours. Maintained nursery supplies, washed and folded laundry, and monitored the baby while working overnight.
EM FAMILY - Overnight Newborn Care
Provided bottle feeds throughout the night and ensured mom that baby was in the best care while providing safe and evidence based practices. Baby was exclusively formula fed, and did show some signs of milk protein intolerance. Implemented paced bottle feeds so baby would have more control of input, and saw much improvement in spit ups! Overall, baby needed to sit up right and get a little more TLC after every feeding to ensure digestion.
BO Family - Overnight Newborn Care
Provided overnight to this family and worked with their first child after they arrived home from the hospital. Provided detailed notes for other providers and parents to ensure a smooth transition and source of knowledge of baby’s behaviors during the night. Ensured the mother’s pump parts were cleaned and sanitized for her to use when she needed relief from oversupply of breastmilk. Helped the baby with paced feeding for introducing bottles, burping, diaper changes, swaddling, soothing, and circumcision care.
